Code of Conduct

IReNA Code of Conduct

The IReNA collaboration is committed to providing a safe, harassment-free, and discrimination-free environment for everyone. We adopt the definition of harassment by the American Astronomical Society. Harassment includes offensive comments or denigrating jokes related to nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

All IReNA personnel, members, and participants, including participants at any IReNA sponsored events, are expected to comply with the applicable anti-harassment, anti-discrimination, and scientific ethics laws and policies in effect at their home institutions, and the institutions they are located at. Additionally, they commit to work and interact within our collaboration in a manner that is consistent with the intent of this Code of Conduct.

In addition to any applicable reporting requirements at their home institution, any member who wishes to report a violation of this policy is encouraged to speak to Jennifer Barnes or Meng-Ru Wu, as they have agreed to serve as a point of contact (or if desired, to another member of the organizing team). Thank you for helping make this a welcoming, friendly event for all.

IReNA will not allow retaliation against any individual who makes a report of known or suspected harassment. Attendees violating these rules may be asked to leave the event at the sole discretion of the conference organizers
