Location

The meeting will take place at Jozef Stefan Institute, located within walking distance (20 minutes) of the city center of Ljubljana.

Ljubljana is a modern and lively city full of culture. It is home to numerous theaters, museums and galleries, and boasts one of the oldest philharmonic orchestras in the world. Origins of the city date back to Ancient Rome. Two thousand years ago, a Roman city called Emona stood on the site of the present-day Ljubljana.

As four Slovene regions meet in Ljubljana, the city's numerous restaurants and inns offer a wide range of local delicacies and superb wines. Today, scientists are drawn to the city because of its high ranking institutes and university, as are artists due to its world-famous graphic biennial, art academy and countless art galleries. International businessmen, economists and experts from all fields frequently attend the city's many business and congressional meetings, exhibitions and trade fairs.

Public bus service

Ljubljana city buses, operated by the “Ljubljanski potniski promet (LPP)” public utility company, offer a convenient connection between your hotel and the meeting venue. Those wishing to travel on city buses should purchase the Urbana public transport card. The Urbana card is available from LPP ticket offices, tourist information centers and most of the city's newspaper kiosks, news-stands and post offices.

The card is priced at €2.00 and can store up to €50.00 of credit to be spent on city bus fares. A single journey fare is €1.20. It covers an up to 90-minute journey regardless of the number of buses needed to be changed to reach the destination. If you keep the receipt you can return the card to the place of purchase when you no longer need it and claim a €2.00 refund.

Ljubljana city bus network is integrated into Google Maps (when looking for directions select public transport), which provides easy access to routes and schedules.
To reach Jozef Stefan Institute use bus lines 1 or 6!
