The femtoscopic technique offers a unique tool to investigate the spatial
structure of the particle-emitting source through the measurement of
momentum correlations between emitted hadrons. This contribution presents
the latest measurements of proton–proton femtoscopic correlations obtained
with the ALICE experiment in OO and Ne-Ne collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}
= 5.36$ TeV, based on data collected in 2025 during the Run 3 data-taking
period at the Large Hadron Collider.
The extracted proton source radii are studied as a function of event
multiplicity and exhibit a behavior similar to that observed in heavy-ion
femtoscopy. In light-ion collisions, the multiplicity range lies between that of
small systems, such as pp and p–Pb, and large systems such as Pb–Pb
collisions.
By comparing these results with measurements from larger collision system
such as Pb-Pb, it becomes possible to study if a common scaling of the
emitting source can be observed over a large range of system sizes, and to
investigate the evolution of the source while exploring the role of
hydrodynamic expansion in intermediate-size nuclear systems.
