Public Lecture

On November 13th, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, in Room P1 – Building F3, Dr. Maximilian Mahlein (Technical University of Munich, Germany) will give a seminar entitled:

From Colliders to the Cosmos: The Galactic Journey of Antinuclei

Abstract:
Antinuclei are some of the rarest objects in the universe, yet they may carry vital clues about its darkest mysteries. They can be created and studied in accelerator experiments and in collisions of cosmic rays in our Galaxy, and their discovery in space would signal the presence of dark matter. To reach Earth, however, antinuclei must survive a long and uncertain journey through interstellar space, where they risk being absorbed or destroyed. In this talk, I will give a broad overview of antinuclei, their formation in high-energy collisions, and their propagation through the Galaxy. I wil l highlight recent results on antinuclei production and absorption and discuss their role as messengers at the crossroads of nuclear physics, astrophysics, and the search for physics beyond the standard model.

How to reach the University Campus:

You can take the bus number 17 from Piazza XXIV Maggio, which goes directly to the Campus terminal of the University.
