Travel grants for PhD students

   NORDITA Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics

NORDITA can provide a limited number of travel grants for PhD students at
Nordic universities to attend the 11th International Conference on Low Energy Antiproton Physics.
Interested students should apply via e-mail before May 1st, 2013 to info@nordita.org.
The application should include a short summary of achievements, affiliation, and expected PhD date.
A letter of recommendation from the supervisor should also be attached. If support is granted it can
cover economy class travel and part of local expenses up to a maximum of 5000 SEK per student.

Climate and Clothing
It is spring in Uppsala in June and the temperatures can vary from 10 to 20 °C.
Please note there may be occasional showers. The organizers suggest that you
bring a jacket or pullover and an umbrella or raincoat.

Local Currency
The Swedish monetary unit is the Swedish krona (SEK), divided into 100 öre.
In January 2013 ; Euro 1=SEK 8,60, USD 1=SEK 6,35, GBP 1=SEK 10,02.
Major credit cards are accepted almost everywhere. There are several currency exchange offices
and cash dispensers at Stockholm Arlanda International Airport and in Uppsala.

Electricity
In Sweden the electrical voltage used is 220/230V.

Vaccinations
No vaccinations are needed when visiting Sweden.
