Peter Forck, "Status of IPM at GSI"

The talk will illustrate the general principle of non-invasive transverse profile measurements using an Ionization Profile Monitors. The design criteria and the technical realization of the IPMs installed at SIS18, ESR, CRYRING and for FAIR are described. Some standard measurements with these monitors are shown as well as more advanced applications. Recent theoretical investigations are addressed and are put into perspective to IPM realizations at other laboratories.
