The investigation of quasi-free scattering reactions with the two-proton-halo nucleus 17Ne
Reactions of the Borromean two-proton-halo nucleus nucleus 17Ne have been measured in complete kinematics at the R3B/LAND setup at GSI in Darmstadt. The experimental method is based on exclusive measurements of one-proton-removal reactions. Polyethylene (CH_2) and carbon (C) were used as targets. Thus it is possible to reconstruct the pure hydrogen (H) contribution of the CH_2 data by subtracting the carbon background. The resulting events are clean quasi-free-scattering (p,2p) reactions showing the typical angular correlations known from p-p scattering. Thereby quasi-free (p,2p) and carbon-induced one-proton removal reactions have been studied separately and are compared with each other showing the quasi-free-scattering reactions to be a clean tool for nuclear-structure studies. The s²- and d²-configuration in the ground state wave function of 17 Ne is determined with two independent analysis methods for both targets, the C-target and the reconstructed H-target. The first analysis method is based on the invariant mass technique, while the second one is based on the analysis of the transverse momentum distributions. The results obtained using quasi-free scattering reactions are compared to the results from carbon induced reactions.

Status of the SOFIA experiment and technical achievements in 2014 and 2016
We report on the status of the SOFIA set-up with the aim of anticipating the D0 experiment. The goals of the SOFIA experiment, the method used and the summary of the different measurements will be briefly presented. We will mainly focus on the technical achievements from, first, the short 2014 beam time at cave C, and second during the most recent detectors test performed at the FRS in June and July 2016.

        Coulomb dissociation of 16O
The 12C(a,g)16O is of great importance in astrophysics but due to its small cross section a direct measurement is very difficult or even impossible. The Coulomb dissociation method could be an alternative method to gain further information and constrain the rate at the astrophysical interesting region.

A liquid hydrogen target and a Time Projection Chamber for R3B
In this talk I will present a project to build a Time Projection Chamber (TPC) to fit inside the gap of GLAD dipole magnet. This will allow benefiting of the bending power of GLAD for rigidity measurement of charged particles. To maximize the acceptance, the target will be placed at the entrance of the TPC chamber. I will present a design combining a thick liquid hydrogen target to the TPC. The capability of measuring high-energy charged particles will be particularly interesting for experiments implying high energies of the beam, and therefore of the ejectiles, beyond the detection threshold of CALIFA array. This will be the case, for example, of short-range correlations studies, that demand beam energies above 1 GeV/u.

        Coulex-induced fission of neutron-deficient pre-actinides
It is proposed to study the fission process in the region of neutron-deficient nuclides of masses 210 to 180 using the updated R3B/SOFIA setup. Secondary beams produced by the FRS will undergo fission by Coulomb excitation, and fission fragments will be identified in mass and charge, allowing to map and characterize the transition toward a new mode of fission.
