Tournament Rules

Rules of the Tournament

1. Registration

For each team maximum 16 active football players (11 men and 5 women) can be registered. The number of professional or semi-professional players (Kreisliga B or higher) cannot exceed 4 for each team.

2. Tournament Rules

These Football Tournaments are played as "small field"-tournaments, so the goal keeper and 6 field players are entered.

In each game all registered players may be continuously substituted. The substitutions are only to be carried out from the side line close to the central line.

About 4 x 2 meter goals are being played.

The offside rule is suspended, and the back pass rule is applied. All free kicks assigned after fouls are considered as indirect free kicks except of penalties.

A ball which left the field at the side must be thrown in.

3. Group Placing

The placing of the teams within one group is determined as follows:

a) Classification of Points

For each game won the winning team receives 3 points. A drawn game counts as 1 point for each team. The number of points scored from all games of one round determines the placing of the team. The team with the highest score is the winning team of a group.

b) Goal Difference

If two or more teams finish with the same number of points, the goal difference is decisive. The team with the highest positive goal difference is placed higher.

c) Number of Goals scored

With equal number of points and equal goal difference the team which scored the most goals is better.

d) Direct Comparison

If two or more teams still have the same placing after a), b), and c) the games of the teams against each other are decisive.

e) 9-Meter-Penalty Kicks

If this still does not lead to a decision, 9-meter-penalty kicks establish an order. The minimum number of penalties for each side is five. No player can take more than one penalty for his team (unless 12 penalties have been taken by both sides or there is no alternative)!

4. Grouping and Duration of the Tournament

The duration of the single tournament and grouping will be chosen later, after the exact number of registered team is clear.

5. Disciplinary sanctions

The yellow card is used to communicate that a player, substitute or substituted player has been cautioned. The second yellow card shown during the match automatically leads to the red card.

The red card is used to communicate that a player, substitute or substituted player has been sent off. The team, whose player has been sent off, remains in minority up to the end of the match. The player who is sent off in the current match will not miss the next one.

Only a player, substitute or substituted player may be shown the red or yellow card.

The referee has the authority to take disciplinary sanctions from the moment he enters the field of play until he leaves the field of play after the final whistle.
