TRAVEL INFO

We recommend to make travel arrangements to Vietri sul Mare such that you arrive at the hotel on Sunday afternoon, 21st of September, and depart from the hotel on Sunday morning, 28th of September.

The meeting will be held in Lloyd's Baia Hotel situated in the town Vietri sul Mare, in the region of Salerno (Via Enrico de Marinis, 2).

Vietri sul Mare is located within walking distance from Salerno, and easily reacheable by bus or train from Capodichino Naples airport (about one hour ride) and from Fiumicino Rome airport
(about three hours ride). Both airports are well connected to the main European hubs and served by international airlines.

From Naples airport:

The international airport Naples Capodichino is linked by a shuttle bus service to the central railway station in Naples (stop Piazza Garibaldi). From there use the bus company SITA to travel to Salerno/Vietri sul Mare, or trains to Salerno/Vietri sul Mare. Alternatively, the airport is directly linked to Salerno by two bus companies BUONOTOURIST and SITA. Below several links of interest.

From Salerno to Vietri sul Mare:

From the railway station of Salerno (Piazza Ferrovia) take CSTP bus no. 4 or 9, direction Vietri sul Mare. From the Central Postal Office bus stop, take the CSTP bus no. 1, direction Vietri sul Mare. From Via Roma (100 mt. from the railway station) take the SITA bus, direction Amalfi, stop in Vietri sul Mare.

Safety issues in Naples

Napoli is a beautiful town, typical safety problems that can be avoided if you follow several basic rules:

- keep the money in a safe place and only a little amount in you wallets;

- don't travel with expensive jewels or watches;

- don't walk around with an expensive camera hanging around your neck or a fancy phone in your hands;

- don't go into dark, remote streets;

- don't leave your luggage unattended;

- be careful on very crowded public transportation means: keep an eye or a hand on the luggage all the time;

- don't carry your purse in your hand on the outter side of the street (pickpockets on small motorbikes slowing down next to you, pulling your purse away from you and disappearing to the horizon are very typical).
