The Representation Compass in Conversation: A Roundtable Event and Q&A
On June 11th, the International Cooperation Office at GSI-FAIR invites you to an informal roundtable discussion on the topic of science in representation, hosted by EpisTEAM philosopher and artist-in-residence Susan Birmingham. This event marks the culmination of Susan’s Representation Compass project - an interactive art-work installed in the GSI cafeteria for a period of 4 weeks, which invited members of the GSI community to respond to questions about how their work relates to the media, the research institute, the wider field of study, and the public at large. In this roundtable session, an interdepartmental panel of GSI staff will be invited to consider the collective response to the Compass, as well as wider questions about the challenges of representing scientific research across a variety of publics, both in and outside of the research community. This will be followed by a chaired audience Q&A, and refreshments provided by GSI-FAIR. We hope you can join us.
