The Joint Physics Symposium brings together the R3B and SAMURAI collaborations to discuss shared scientific interests and future experimental programs. This meeting will take place from Monday, June 29th to Wednesday, July 1st, 2026, at GSI/FAIR, and will be held in conjunction with the SAMURAI 2026 Workshop as part of an EMMI workshop.

The symposium aims to strengthen the collaboration between R3B and SAMURAI. The discussions will help define the experimental physics program for the coming years at both R3B at FAIR and SAMURAI.

Scientific Scope

The symposium will focus on research topics at the heart of both collaborations, including:

  • Shell structure of medium-mass neutron-rich nuclei
  • Symmetry energy of the nuclear equation of state
  • Clustering phenomena in nuclei
  • Short-range correlations (SRC)
  • Relevant reaction mechanisms for the above topics

The program will feature invited talks from prominent theorists and experimentalists. A confirmed list of speakers will be available following the AIC meeting in April 2026.
