Joint R3B-SAMURAI Physics Symposium

The Joint Physics Symposium brings together the R³B and SAMURAI collaborations to discuss shared scientific interests and future experimental programs. This meeting will take place from Monday, June 29^th to Wednesday, July 1^st, 2026, at GSI/FAIR, and will be held in conjunction with the SAMURAI 2026 Workshop as part of an EMMI workshop.

The symposium aims to strengthen the collaboration between R³B and SAMURAI. The discussions will help define the experimental physics program for the coming years at both R³B at FAIR and SAMURAI.

Scientific Scope

The symposium will focus on research topics at the heart of both collaborations, including:

• Shell structure of medium-mass neutron-rich nuclei
• Symmetry energy of the nuclear equation of state
• Clustering phenomena in nuclei
• Short-range correlations (SRC)
• Relevant reaction mechanisms for the above topics

The program will feature invited talks from prominent theorists and experimentalists. A confirmed list of speakers will be available following the AIC meeting in April 2026.
