Basic guidance on how to reach CERN from the airport or the train station can be found here:
https://home.cern/directions/
Participants who do not have a CERN access card should have received an email with instructions on how to obtain/print their visitor badge. Please check this email carefully before traveling.
Upon arrival, you will need to print your visitor badge at CERN. On CERN working days, this can be done at the CERN Community Support Centre, Building 33, open from 07:00 to 18:30.
To enter the CERN site, please have with you:
-
the visitor-badge instructions/email you received,
-
a valid identity document,
-
your hostel booking confirmation, if you are staying at a CERN hostel.
If you arrive during the weekend or outside the opening hours of Building 33, please go to the security guard at Gate B, Building 533.
CERN entrance B:
Please show your identity document and, if applicable, your hostel booking confirmation. The guard will advise you on access and on how to reach the hostel reception.
Information on how to check into your room on arrival can be found here:
https://hr.web.cern.ch/faqs/how-check-into-my-room-on-arrival
For participants staying at the CERN Hostel in Meyrin, Switzerland:
If you arrive during the hostel reception opening hours, Monday-Friday from 07:30 to midnight, or Saturday-Sunday from 09:00 to midnight, please go to the reception in Building 39 to collect your room keys. If you expect to arrive after midnight, you must inform the Hostel Reception in advance and specify your arrival time. In this case, room keys can be obtained from the security guard at Gate B, Building 533.
For participants staying at the Saint-Genis Hostel, France:
In Saint-Genis, check-in is possible only between 15:15 and 19:00 during the week. If you arrive outside these hours, you should go to the CERN site in Meyrin, after informing the Hostel Reception in advance. If the reception in Building 39 is open, they will give you the keys to your room in Saint-Genis. Otherwise, if the reception is closed, room keys can be obtained from the security guard at Gate B, Building 533.
The event will take place on the French side of CERN, in Prévessin: in Building 774 on Monday, and in Building 892 from Tuesday to Thursday.
Each morning, a bus will be waiting for participants at 08:20 in the parking lot next to Building 39, and around 08:35-08:50 next to the Schumann Residence in Saint-Genis.
Please be on time. Due to the G7 summit, the logistics are more complicated than usual, and the driver will not be able to wait. The bus will depart from Building 39 at 08:30 sharp.
If you miss the bus, you can use the CERN shuttle service from the shuttle stops next to Building 39 or Building 300:
