Beschreibung
We aim to explore laser ablation as a possible approach for creating clean, well-defined microholes in polymers used for lase fusion targets where symmetry and control of surface roughness are important. Because polymers differ widely in their properties, general insights into laser–material interaction are sought through modeling of density-dependent excitation in band-gap materials.
The theoretical models used are based on the density-dependent two-temperature model (nTTM) and extended multiple rate equations (EMRE). These calculations are intended to guide experimental studies carried out in collaboration with Focused Energy to identify suitable processing conditions and improve overall feature quality.
