Description
Elastic electron scattering from the proton is one of the elementary processes in subatomic physics. Recent precision measurements have yielded some surprises. The operating OLYMPUS experiment at DESY will determine how many photons are exchanged between an electron and proton at GeV energies. The proposed DarkLight experiment at Jefferson Lab will search for new physics beyond the Standard Model.
