Information on visa to enter Germany by the German Federal Foreign Office is provided on this web page.
We strongly recommend that you start the visa application process as soon as possible.

Arriving by plane
Frankfurt International Airport is about 20 minutes by car or taxi from Darmstadt. The price for a normal taxi is ~60 Euro. airport shuttle service can be booked e.g. via TopTransfer (needs to be booked at least 24 h before pick-up, please note special pick-up location) for ~40 Euro . There are also an express shuttle bus and railway connections to and from Frankfurt Airport (~10 €/ride). The "Airliner" express bus runs every 30 minutes from Frankfurt Airport (Terminal 1 and Terminal 2) to the east side of the central railway station "Darmstadt Hauptbahnhof".
Arriving by car
Darmstadt is connected to the A5 and A67 motorways (Autobahn). From the motorway exit at "Darmstadt/Stadtmitte" and follow the signs to the “darmstadtium”.

Car parking: use the entrance at the Alexanderstraße (454 underground parking spaces; 1.80€/hour, or 4.00€/15.00€ night-time/day-time flat-rate).
Arriving by train
The central railway station "Darmstadt Hauptbahnhof" is served by high speed trains. Bus and tram services run from the central bus station at the main entrance on the east side of the station. Use the tram number 2 or 3, or the bus lines "F" or "H" which will bring you to the "darmstadtium" (exit at the stop "Schloss") for the price of about 2 €/ticket.
