Description
Investigation of atomic processes has a long history; however, some of them still remain as a puzzle. In this presentation selected atomic processes in Highly Charged Ions (HCI’s) will be discussed. I will focus my talk on the new EBIT (Electron Beam Ion Trap) facility of the Institute of Physics of the Jagiellonian University, construction and principle of operation will be presented. I will focus my talk on x-ray spectra of Multielectron recombinations, from which the simplest is Radiative Recombination. More interesting processes that we investigate are Di-electronic Recombination (DR) and Tri-electronic Recombination. The results of those experiments will be perceived.
