Ultrafast optical laser pulses play a crucial role in various fields. They allow for precise measurements at the shortest time scales and highest field strengths, and are essential for industrial applications such as semiconductor manufacturing and healthcare. Although ultrafast lasers have been available for over half a century, our ability to create and tailor ultrafast pulses, as well as coherent light in general, is rapidly advancing until today. This talk will discuss recent advances in post-compression, frequency conversion and amplification of intense ultrashort pulses using optical multi-pass cells.
