Beschreibung
Electron-loss and electron-capture processes arising in collisions of heavy many-electron ions wih neutral atoms are considered in a wide energy range: from a few keV/u up to tens of GeV/u. Calculated cross sections, ion-beam lifetimes and average charge states are compared with available experimental data and other calculations. Multi-electron capture and loss processes are discussed. The role of the target-density effects and the influence of relativistic effects are also considered.
