Description

In this talk, recent results from the heavy-ion program at the CERN Large Hadron

Collider (LHC) are presented. Special emphasis is given on so-called hard probes,

i.e. production and correlations of particles at large transverse momentum or containing

heavy quarks. Such probes are abundantly produced at LHC energies. We conclude that the

field has entered an era of precision measurements, giving rise to the expectation

that a detailed characterization of the hot Quark-Gluon Plasma is within reach.
