Description

A report on the results of the beamtime E125 at the ESR in March this year, where we measured the 2p3/2→2s1/2 intrashell transition in He-like uranium with an unprecedented accuracy of ~0.2 eV. This transition measured with such precision allows to test electron correlation effects and two-loop corrections of Quantum Electrodynamics in few electron systems in strong electric fields. I will explain the apparatus and measuring scheme and show preliminary result.
