During its Stockholm years, CRYRING and its electron cooler facilitated many dielectronic recombination (DR) experiments which benefitted greatly from the excellent vacuum conditions and ultra-cold electron beam. After commissioning of CRYRING@ESR during the last years and a successful test measurement in 2020 we are now able to continue this tradition and explore a new regime of heavy, highly-charged ions injected from ESR. Additionally, a local source provides lighter ions that can be used for commissioning and to gain experimental data for absolute DR rates of astrophysical relevant species. This talk will present our new measurement setup and some preliminary results from DR experiments conducted during the 2021 beam time.
