The development of energy-efficient technologies with a strong focus on sustainability is a top priority for future, resource-efficient particle physics experiments and collider systems, in order to ensure long-term societal support for fundamental research. The efficient powering of the innermost detector layers in LHC experiments is particularly challenging due to harsh operating conditions, including ultra-high radiation levels and strong magnetic fields. This talk discusses Shunt-LDO regulators for serial powering and high-frequency DC/DC converters for parallel powering, with emphasis on the system-level and circuit-level challenges that must be addressed to achieve reliable operation.
