HEPTrepreneurs is the online series of events organised by HEPTech and GSI in collaboration with CERN dedicated to all members and partners of the network. The series focusses of High Energy Physics Entrepreneurship and covers various themes. The inspirational and interactive talks, round tables and keynotes are made for all those interested in entrepreneurship, but also for young people who want to know more about alternatives careers to research and for technology transfer officers looking for people to inspire. The meetings will include a presentation, a Q&A session and offers possibilities for networking.

Speaker: Prof. Dr. Franz X. Kärtner, Cycle GmbH

About the speaker:

Prof. Dr. Franz X. Kärtner is Professor of Physics at Universität Hamburg and Head of the Ultrafast Optics and X-rays Group at DESY. He is also the co-founder and Managing Director of Cycle GmbH, a deep-tech spin-off commercializing precision timing and frequency distribution technologies for research infrastructures and industry. Combining decades of experience in cutting-edge photonics research with entrepreneurship, he has successfully translated scientific innovation into commercial products. He has been recognized with several awards, including the IEEE Laser Instrumentation Award and the UNIPRENEURS Award.
