A Welcome Reception is planned on Sunday, June 7, and the Conference Dinner on Thursday, June 11. An excursion is planned on Wednesday afternoon, June 10. Besides local activities (sports, hiking, etc.) two excursions are offered to the conference participants at additional cost:
  • Point Alpha (20€):
    This authentic historical site presents the confrontation of the two world power blocs during the "Cold War" as well as the time of division within Germany.

  • Erlebnisbergwerk Merkers (20€):
    The Merkers salt mine drops about 800m below the surface. The visitor enters the mine through an elevator going down to sublevel two at 500m below ground. The guided tour brings you to the “Crystal Grotto” with its enormous salt crystals and the underground mining museum.

The additional costs for both excursions cover the entrance fee, the guided tour, and bus transfer. Due to a limited number of participants in guided tours, the availability is subject to a “first-come-first-serve” basis. Participants shall pay the excursions in cash at the registration desk.
