Description

The ultranarrow nuclear resonances of Mössbauer nuclei enable the transfer of quantum optical concepts into the regime of hard x-rays, facilitated by the radiation from accelerator driven light sources like synchrotrons and x-ray lasers. In this talk I will give selected examples reaching from the collective Lamb shift, over electromagnetically induced transparency and slow light all the way to recent works on the nuclear clock isomer Scandium-45.
