Improved axion emissivity from a supernova and the SN1987A bound

In this talk it will be discussed the physics potential of a Galactic supernovae in probing axions and axion-like particles, starting from the lesson of the SN 1987A to current and planned experiments. Moreover, it will be shown an updated calculation of the SN axion emissivity useful to revise the SN 1987A bound.
