The understanding of the dynamics of single- and multiple-electron emission is of great interest in many applications such as fusion reactors, space weather, radiation damage and hadrontheraphy. In this talk I will focus particularly in the electron emission process at intermediate and high (but non relativistic) collision energy.
The type of theoretical model used to describe the different processes in atomic collisions will depend upon the impact velocity of the projectile. For the intermediate-high velocity range Classical Trajectory Monte Carlo models (CTMC) are usually used, along with the perturbative quantum distorted wave models like the well known CDW and CDW-EIS. In this talk I will describe these distorted wave models and their extension to dressed projectiles, and show results of their application to a variety of collision systems involving bare and dressed projectiles colliding with atomic and molecular targets.
