DESCRIPTION:The Representation Compass in Conversation: A Roundtable Event
  and Q&A\nOn June 11th\, the International Cooperation Office at GSI-FAIR 
 invites you to an informal roundtable discussion on the topic of science i
 n representation\, hosted by EpisTEAM philosopher and artist-in-residence 
 Susan Birmingham. This event marks the culmination of Susan’s Representa
 tion Compass project - an interactive art-work installed in the GSI cafete
 ria for a period of 4 weeks\, which invited members of the GSI community t
 o respond to questions about how their work relates to the media\, the res
 earch institute\, the wider field of study\, and the public at large. In t
 his roundtable session\, an interdepartmental panel of GSI staff will be i
 nvited to consider the collective response to the Compass\, as well as wid
 er questions about the challenges of representing scientific research acro
 ss a variety of publics\, both in and outside of the research community. T
 his will be followed by a chaired audience Q&A\, and refreshments provided
