Over the last two decades the experi mental storage ring ESR at GSI has played a central role for such investig ations. Experimental possibilities will be extended with the currently ong oing commissioning of the low-energy storage ring CRYRING\, which is locat ed downstream of the ESR. Further possibilities for experiments are the Ch inese Storage Ring in Lanzhou\, the Rare RI-Ring at RIKEN\, Japan and poss ibly a storage ring at ISOLDE. The idea of this collaboration is to combin e resources\, create synergies and coherently present the latest developme nts concerning the experimental determination of nuclear properties with a strophysical motivation at storage rings.\n\nThe scientific program of the meeting will cover a variety of astrophysical and nuclear experiments at the heavy ion storage rings around the world.
