Description

After the surprising discovery of collective phenomena in small collision systems, such as proton-proton and proton-lead, efforts to understand these phenomena in the standard frameworks of proton-proton collisions, have lead to new insights into possible microscopic explanations of such effects, in terms of string dynamics. I will present efforts to understand multiparticle correlations and strangeness enhancement in terms of string interactions, as well as present efforts to transfer such models to large collision systems in the Angantyr framework, in the Pythia 8 Monte Carlo event generator.
