Description
Experimental evidence in hadronic spectroscopy questions quark models that successfully described the ground and some low excited states of mesons with open charm or bottom. This picture has been challenged by two narrow resonances Ds0*(2317) and Ds1(2460) and more recently by the observation of five narrow excited Omegac states. A comprehensive description of their properties is still missing and some authors have suggested that these states could have a quark content beyond the standard qqbar/qqq picture, like tetraquark, molecule or pentaquark. An overview of the most recent results in open charmed spectroscopy will be reviewed. Future prospect at hadron and electron-positron colliders will be presented as well.
