Description
Afghanistan has 33.4 million population with about 20000 new cancer cases yearly, but there is not a standard centre for clinical and radiation therapy of cancer patients. According to GLOBOCAN Data from WHO, we need at least two standard centres for cancer therapy in Afghanistan in Kabul and Herat. I will report on the founding of the centres in Kabul and Herat to have acceptable treatment of cancer patients and to access further research for cancer cases in Afghanistan. The centres need advanced chemotherapy, radiation therapy, pathology and radiology wards, which I want to explain in my presentation. I searched for an available cancer therapy centre in the neighbourhood of Afghanistan. Our Ministry of Public Health signed a MoU with BLK Super Speciality Hospital in New Delhi - India. I applied for that position and, after evaluation of my documents in MCI (Medical Council of India), I became the first Afghan Doctor who started his study in Clinical/Radiotherapy Centre in BLK Super Speciality Hospital. Now I try to establish Oncology Departments in Afghanistan, also with support by the United Nations through the World Health Organization WHO.
