Description
The seminar will presents the science case of an Electron-Ion Collider (EIC), focused on the structure and interactions of gluon-dominated matter. It will describe briefly few golden physics measurements along with accelerator and detector concepts required to achieve them. The EIC will be able to change the center of mass energy from the limits of fixed target experiments around 20 GeV to an upper limit of about 140 GeV and will exceed the capabilities of HERA by adding polarized proton and light-ion beams, a wide variety of heavy-ion beams at two to three orders of magnitude increase in luminosity.
